The Netherlands, for its liberal drug laws, has long been revered. Unfortunately, in recent years, the Dutch government has made several improvements to its drug regulations, including stricter limits on how individuals purchase, cultivate and consume different drugs.

The ban of magic mushrooms was one of the major changes to the Dutch drug policy in 2008. You may have seen coffeeshops and smart shops selling “magic truffles” if you have recently been to the Netherlands. We’ll be investigating truffles in this post, what they are, and why they’re still legal in the Netherlands.
